Time of Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving found Clay and I driving to Virginia and back in 3 short days, accumulating a lot of road time and some very precious family time. We picked up my parents in Pennsylvania on the way down and made it to the Proctor homestead in time for dinner on Thanksgiving Day. We enjoyed all the fixin's (thanks to Donna Proctor), southern style. We all spent a day and a half together and Clay and I enjoyed sitting back and watching our parents become friends. Ah, how sweet it is when families-to-be actually enjoy one another.

The Proctors were great hosts and tour guides. We enjoyed a morning on the farm with their 5 horses, eating the best ice cream in town, visiting a friend who lives right on the water (I'm in love with their home!), tooling around Roanoke and Bedford - taking in the beauty of the valleys and farmland and the breathtaking views from the peaks, visiting with grandparents and enjoying the hot tub! All in all, a full weekend, too quick a trip but well worth it. My parents loved it and we were all impressed with the beauty of southeastern Virginia. In fact, I think my mom's ready to move to Virginia. :)

This is our pose for defeating pre-weddings blues :)

How precious! We're so glad the time with the families went well... you never know who those things are going to go. We are also impressed with how beautiful Virginia is. Who knew?
We look forward to seeing you tonight!

I am so envious of those horses -- they got it made. The mountainous pastureland with the brook running through it beat even the Finnish lakes in beauty. I was ready to move into the next stall....
