Christmas, Anniversary and a New Year!

Wow, what a whirlwind 10 days we were able to spend together over Christmas and the New Year. The best gift was being able to spend time together in the midst of our 3-month separation.
We celebrated our anniversary in Jamestown, VA and got to see how they lived in 1607. Jamestown was the first permanent English colony in the New World. We've got Plymouth in Massachusetts but, apparently, Jamestown was around 13 years before the pilgrims landed at Plymouth (another point for Virginia, to Clay's side):

On our actual anniversary day, Clay was stuck in Chicago where he had flown to attend a friends's wedding. Though he was due to return in time for another friend's wedding on our anniversary, he missed it all due to flight cancellations.

But, I rejoiced with Katie and Yoshi as they tied the knot in a God-glorifying, uniquely bilingual wedding ceremony! Congratulations, Nakamuras!

Miles (Charis' baby) didn't seem to pay much attention to the speeches that were given:

The (snowflake?) bride and Charis watch the rehearsal:

Charis and Miles:

Ten days before Christmas, we planned a Christmas party in Boston for the international students at our church. Some of them were exposed to stringing popcorn and trimming a tree for the first time! We also reflected on the true meaning of Christmas and the awesome gift that we have in Christ!
